I had no idea that it had been so long since I have posted something on our news page. Probably because we don't have a great deal of news to announce! Like many businesses, things have slowed down over the past few months, which is what we always expect at this time of year. To be honest, the pandemic has had little effect on the overall workings of the business, as we are still able to visit task areas and work outside while maintaining social distancing measures.

Newly introduced regulations from the CAA/EASA (Civil Aviation Authority/European Aviation Safety Agency) has meant a certain type of drone (sub 250gms) can be flown outside the 50mtr rule that relates to larger aircraft. Providing they are flown safely and obvious measures are followed, they can be flown much closer to uninvolved persons and structures, whilst also being allowed to be flown in towns and cities. This is a big bonus for many operators as it means we can undertake such tasks as property inspections in areas, where before these new rules, would have meant lots of 'leg work' to get permissions in place before proceeding with any flying. In fact, we have had to turn down a number of jobs because they were simply too involved and would add a disproportionate amount of time to a project. We have now acquired one of the new sub 250gms mini drones and have to say, we are very impressed. The quality will never be as good as our Inspire aircraft, because the camera sensor is that much smaller, having said that, when used appropriately, the drone provides excellent results. Here is a photo taken during our first test flight...
